What is the difference between LED & incandescent lights?
LED – “Lighting Emitting Diode”
- Uses 1/10th the energy consumption compared to standard incandescent mini light bulbs. (100 LED bulbs requires 50watts of electricity per hour)
- Has a bulb life of 10,000 plus continuous hours
- The bulbs are cool to touch and keeps lighting safe to use indoor and out
- The bulbs have an epoxy lens and are virtually indestructible
- 20 strands of 70-100 lights can be connected end to end without over loading the fuses in the strands
- If a bulb goes out, the other bulbs will stay lit due to parallel wiring
Incandescent – conventional holiday lights
- 100 incandescent bulbs requires 500 watts of electricity per hour
- Has a bulb life of 3,000 hours
- The bulbs tend to get warm after long periods of time
- The bulbs have a glass lens and can break upon impact
- 6 strands of 100 lights can be connected end to end without over loading the fuses in the strands
- If a bulb goes out, you must locate the bulb and replace it. It may also create the other bulbs in the line to go out as well.
